Chocolate Addiction Snack Mix
Katie: Most of my friends know I'd rather stick a pin in my eye than have to give up chocolate. What kind of life would that be? This snack mix is delicious AND full of cancer-fighting anti-oxidants.
Three simple ingredients, all available at Neighborhood or Super Walmart:
1 8 oz. Bag "World Table" Raw Almonds
1 6 oz. Bag Dried Cranberries (or Cherries)
1 Dark Chocolate Bar ("Lindt" 70% Cocoa) chopped into small morsels
If you're feeling like an over-achiever (which I'm usually not), you can pick up apple-juice sweetened cranberries in the bulk section at Whole Foods. They also have pre-chopped 70% Dark Chocolate Morsels in the baking section. (70% or greater is really important).
Raw, unsalted almonds are the healthiest choice. But if you are not (yet) keen on unsalted nuts, try mixing equal parts salted/unsalted for now.
