Quick Microwave Oatmeal
Does your mama stand over the stove stirring and stirring her oatmeal? Does she cook up a mix that's loaded with sugar? If you've said "yes" to either question, this is definitely not your mama's oatmeal. Raisins are better with oatmeal because they don't have the added sugar that you'll find in other dried fruits.
Place in a small bowl:
1/4 cup old-fashioned oats several shakes of cinnamon small handful raisins Gently stir above ingredients and pour in 1/2 cup water. Microwave for 2 l/2 minutes at power level 5. (Cook on high and you'll return to find that your breakfast has left the bowl.) Add a bit of 2% milk or Almond Silk, some nuts, and drizzle with raw honey or a teaspoon of coconut palm sugar. A few frozen blueberries or raspberries can be placed on top of the oatmeal during the last 30 seconds of cooking. |
